{"id":1760,"date":"2026-09-15T11:41:48","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T09:41:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/events.visitlido.it\/events\/casino-royale-ball-dior-venetian-heritage\/"},"modified":"2026-10-23T10:57:32","modified_gmt":"2026-10-23T08:57:32","slug":"casino-royale-ball-dior-venetian-heritage","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/events.visitlido.it\/en\/events\/casino-royale-ball-dior-venetian-heritage\/","title":{"rendered":"Casino Royale Ball \u2013 Dior &#038; Venetian Heritage"},"featured_media":1277,"template":"","event-type":[41],"class_list":["post-1760","event","type-event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","event-type-galas"],"acf":{"start_date":"2026-05-09 00:00:00","end_date":"2026-05-09 00:00:00","hero":{"image":1277,"date_text":"9 May 2026","link":""},"content":[{"acf_fc_layout":"text","lead":"On 9 May 2026, during the opening week of the 61st Venice Art Biennale, the Palazzo del Casin\u00f2 on the Lido hosted the Casino Royale Ball, organised by Dior and Venetian Heritage.","text":"For one evening the building returned to its original glamorous calling, transformed into a setting inspired by the elegance and atmosphere of the great casinos of the 1930s.\r\n\r\nBuilt in 1938 to a design by Eugenio Miozzi, the <a href=\"https:\/\/events.visitlido.it\/en\/venues\/palazzo-del-casino\/\">Palazzo del Casin\u00f2<\/a> is one of the finest examples of Rationalist architecture on the Lido. Behind its austere travertine-clad fa\u00e7ade lie monumental interiors featuring marble, mosaics, grand staircases and glass from the historic furnaces of Murano. The contrast between the rigour of the exterior and the richness of the interiors was one of the central elements of the event\u2019s staging.\r\n\r\nFor the Casino Royale Ball, the historic rooms on the upper floor, long out of use, were also reopened and refitted. Dior recreated the atmosphere of the original casino with gaming tables, velvets, card-inspired decorative details and arrangements that included Murano glass, temporarily restoring the Palazzo to its original role as a venue for entertainment and international hospitality.\r\n\r\nThe event also had a strong cultural purpose.
